Open AI and create a new document. There are no strict rules on document size. If you are a beginner, you can try to keep the same size as my document. Refer to the figure below, so that you can refer to the various parameter values I will set next.
Beginners should know that the values of various parameters in the software will change with the size of the document you draw. You should debug various parameters on the panel controlled by each tool according to the actual needs to find the best effect.
Next, drag the portrait you want to copy into the document, and reduce the transparency of the embedded image to make the lines you want to copy clear. Then lock it in the layer panel. A new layer shall be created for drawing.
Find a good angle and composition for your portrait. So as not to adjust the painting halfway.
