Photography Skills: A Course of Rapidly Creating Warm Portrait Effects
OnPhotographyIn order to obtain a more unified and harmonious visual effect, we usually use the same color to create a picture. Such color matching will make the overall feeling of the picture more strong, especially in portrait photos.
But in the actual shooting, our picture colors are usually messy. How can we unify the colors to make the picture more harmonious? This is what we are going to learn today. The final effect we want to achieve is as follows:
1、 Analysispicture
First, we open the original picture:
The color composition of this picture is complex, mainly including the blue of clothes, the orange of hair and skin color, and the green and yellow of leaves. Then, since we want to unify the hue, we need to determine a reference color, and then perform color conversion with this color as the center. When considering the reference color, the following aspects should be considered: dominant color, natural color and logical color.
The so-called dominant color is the dominant color of a photo. For example, if a photo is composed of red as the main color, then we will generally unify other colors to red, because the workload of adjustment is minimal.
The so-called natural color is the color that conforms to the visual experience. For example, the skin color of characters is mainly red and yellow. Although the screen is dominated by green, it is obviously unreasonable to convert the skin color of characters to green. Therefore, based on the consideration of natural color, it is necessary to determine the reference color as red or yellow or a mixture of the two.
The so-called logical color is to consider the possibility of color conversion from the perspective of tools. For example, a photo is mainly composed of A, B, and C colors, and these three colors can be used as the dominant color. At this time, it is necessary to consider which color conversion is easier to implement from the tool. If the position of A, B, and C on the hue ring is B in the middle, then the hue change range of A and C converted to B will be small, so the color loss will be smaller, and the final result will be better. On the contrary, if A or C is used as the reference color, there must be a color that will undergo a large conversion range, which is not conducive to maintaining the image quality.
Based on the above three aspects, we decided to take the skin color of the character, namely orange, as the reference color.
2、 Adjust exposure
Generally speaking, when we perform post adjustment, we first adjust the exposure, and then adjust the color. We first increase the shadow value to+65:
A photo can be divided into different areas according to different classification standards, such as red area, green area, blue area, etc. according to color, texture and block according to high and low frequency, and main body and background according to subjective intention.
Naturally, we can also divide the photo area according to the exposure, such as dividing the photo into the lightest area, the brighter area, the darker area and the darkest area, so that we can achieve fine adjustment of the photo.
In the Pungent and Spicy Painting, the corresponding is:
Highlights – the brightest area
White Scale – Lighter Areas
Black scale – darker areas
Shadow – the darkest area
We can achieve all-round adjustment through zoning control of these four regions.
Highlights: Highlights correspond to the brightest part of the screen, such as the sky. Lowering the highlight value can reduce the brightness of the sky, so that the details of the sky can be better presented.
Shadows: Shadows correspond to the darkest part of the painting, such as the ground. Increasing the shadow value can improve the brightness of the ground, so that the details of the ground can be better presented.
White color scale: the white color scale corresponds to the brighter part of the picture, and its influence scope is generally larger than the highlight.
Black color scale: The black color scale corresponds to the darker part of the screen, and its influence scope is generally larger than the shadow.
Therefore, we can show the details of the dark part of the picture by raising the shadow here.
3、 Color tone
After exposure adjustment, we usually use color temperature and tone tools to lay down the color tone of the picture. Orange belongs to the warm color system, so we use color temperature tools to base color. We open the color temperature tool to increase the color temperature value and add a warm color tone to the screen:
